The museum is a key reference for understanding the formative years of Pablo Picasso. The genius of the young artist is revealed through the more than 3,800 works that make up the museum's permanent collection.
La Sagrada Familia
The church of La Sagrada Familia was begun in 1882 and in 1883 Gaudi was commissioned to carry on the work, a task which he did not abandon until his death in 1926. Since then different architects have continued the work after his original idea and the building is still going on.
Museu National d'Art de Catalunya
The museum is housed in the magnificent palace overlooking the fountains of Montjuic. The MNAC embraces all the arts and aims to explain the general history of Catalan art from the Romanesque period to the mid-twentieth century.
The park contains amazing stone structures, stunning tiling and fascinating buildings. At the top of Parc Guell is a terraced area where you get a wonderful view of the park and of the city.
