We base our tours around the lively and cosmopolitan city of Lille, which as well as hosting its own Christmas Market, is ideally located for exploring the region's other markets. Whether you are looking to focus your tour on spending time in regional towns, or enjoying high quality galleries and museums, or visiting World War One Battlefield sites and memorials. Study Experiences can arrange a wide range of visits and excursions, such as:
Lille Christmas Market
In recent years, Lille's elegant centre has been transformed and designer boutiques now line the streets of the medieval centre. The Christmas Market is traditionally held at Place Rihour, which is adorned with decorations, colourful lights and market stalls. In the main square, a huge Ferris wheel is erected, which offers a great view of the city and its Christmas illuminations.
Arras Christmas Market
Arras, with its fine old centre, is one of the prettiest towns in northern France. Renowed for its tapestries of the late Middle Ages, it holds a spectacular Christmas Market in the Grand Place. A wide range of stalls and exhibitors offer a great selection of arts and crafts, as well as local delicacies.
Located between Lille and the Channel port, La Coupole is a gigantic underground bunker designed by the Nazis in 1943-1944 to store, prepare and launch the V2 rockets, the secret weapon that Hitler was counting on to destroy London.
Our tour arrangements are based on providing your group with exclusive use of a 48, 49 or 53 seat coach, which will collect you from and return you back to your school or college. The coach will also provide the transfers between your chosen activities each day and your hotel, to ensure you enjoy the very best arrangements throughout the tour.
Your group will stay in one of our carefully selected two or three-star hotels. Our range includes good standard hotels in the greater Lille area. Our range includes Campanile Lille HEM Hotel, Kyriad Lille Villeneuve D'Asq Hotel and Balladins Superior Lille Tourcoing Hotel.
